For over forty years, Cal Stacey, has dedicated his law practice, throughout Montana and elsewhere, to representing individuals, companies and anyone who find themselves in litigation situations. Cal’s practice involves the trial of a wide range of legal claims including but not limited to car accident and personal injury cases, construction related claims, worksite injuries, insurance claims and defenses and commercial disputes. Over the last 40 years, Cal has tried in excess of 100 jury trials involving a wide variety of claims.
Cal was born in Great Falls but grew up in Billings. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Oregon where he graduated in three years. While at Oregon, he also played on the golf team. Upon graduation, he attended the University of Montana School of Law in Missoula graduating in 1977. Since that date, his practice has been focused upon the handling of all matters that may possibly end up in trial as well as the appellate practice. As a result of his extensive trial practice, he has been invited and admitted to a number of prestigious trial lawyers associations including the International Academy of Trial Lawyers limited to 500 attorneys from the United States, the American College of Trial Lawyers, the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel. It is believed that Cal is the only attorney in Montana that has been invited and inducted into all of these trial organizations which are limited to 1% or less of the attorneys throughout the United States. Cal is a member of the Montana Bar Association, the Montana Trial Lawyers Association and is admitted to practice not only in all of the state and federal courts in Montana but has been admitted to both the Ninth and Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Cal has been listed numerous times as being one of America’s Top 100 Attorneys as well as being identified in the Mountain States “Super Lawyers” publication. Cal has received the highest rating provided for by Martindale Hubbell, AV, signifying that he has obtained the highest rating from his peers in the legal community for both Legal Ability and Ethical Standards. Cal and the law firm of Stacey & Funyak handle cases throughout Montana.
Cal is married and has 6 children, two of which are attorneys having graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
